Sure you can. They hold open try outs. You likely will not get a scholarship your 1st year, but if you are really good they can re-evaluate that for the next year. Talk to the coach to find out when and also ask if you can work out with the team. Also, if you arent willing to work hard and you still want to be lazy, they wont give you the time of day.

Most college basketball programs have what is called an "open tryout", at the start of practice (usually October 15th).The "tryout" is for all students, that feel that they may have a chance to make the team.If you are fortunate to make the cut, your job will be to make the scholarship players work hard in practice and get better.Don't not expect a scholarship the first year, but you will be treated with the same rights and privileges as the full scholarship players.

I agree wit Rav.First off, How do you know you are good. Have you been evaluated by a coach? Anyway,You can try out, but if you are lazy and haven't been on a high school team your changes are slim, buddy. You also need good grades to stay on the team.

Yes you can. Your status is called walk-on, which means you weren't offered a scholarship, but you worked hard and made the team with your hardwork. Keep working and you'll be rewarded with a scholarship eventually

Depends on the school. Look kid, college ball is nothing like high school. These kids have to WORK hard to improve their game AND stay eligible. Can't be lazy and make it there no matter how "good"you think you are....

Yeah. Go talk to the coach.
You'd have a better shot if you had played in HS, but I think everyone gets a chance.
Hope this helps!
