I believe these guys have a sound all thier own, they cover so many different levels.... Does anybody even listen to these cats like I do.... El manana is easily one of the best songs ever recorded in my opinion.... what you think?

I've heard them, yes. I work as an editor for a kids' sports show (VERY much like ESPN), and up until recently, Gorillaz' song "Feel Good" was pretty much the ONLY song we ever used for play-by-plays. It got old REALLY fast... :S

I recently watched a recorded concert of the Gorillaz with guest appearances by De La Soul...it was off the chain! By far the best concert I've watched on cable

I was hip to their music from years ago but being a musician it's kind've hard to keep up with the favorites.
You're right they're in a class by themselves....is it fair to call them "Alternative?"

They list themselves as pop, rock, hip-hop on their myspace, so you might have trouble narrowing it down if the band can't even do it. Just enjoy!
