Windshield installation is a skill that requires a certain amount of experience -- it's sort of like learning to play the guitar, because you have to train your muscles and your senses.

If I were you, I'd pay a pro to do it. I'd think of it as a small extra expense in the overall restoration budget.

If you want to try it yourself, then more power to you, but be aware that you might be disappointed with the results.

At the factory, we have a robot place a bead of glue around the edge of the glass, it then moves the glass to the proper position and presses the windshield into position.

On older cars and trucks they used to have a rubber channel that was connected to the body and the glass was placed in the channel.

Don't listen to that idiot telling u to go take it to a shop! Just go to kragen auto, pep boys or something and buy replacement part. All you have to do is take a few screws out ..... search DIY (do it yourself) replacing windshield wipers or go to youtube.com.... you might find a video on how to do it! Hope this helps!

Take it to a shop and let them pop it in. It may in the end cost you more money if you break it . . .
