It's fun to create things that we can watch go about an existence. Wouldn't it be neat to create a world of living things to your own exact specifications, and watch their feats?

Humans were made as an image. We've achieved amazing things for our physical limitations. Right now isn't a very good example, though, because right now the world we are living in isn't under God's rule at the moment, but it will be.

What I don't get is why people of a normal amount of happiness have to ask. Relevance is in physical laws. No matter what we know about the universe, that doesn't change the fact that we get hungry and need to eat, we will burn if we touch a hot stove, we will die if we don't obey the law of gravity, and the things that make us happy make us happy, no matter what, and no matter what we know that has nothing to do with this earth and us.

Life is a testing ground to determine our worthiness. We are given problems and struggles to work off bad karma from our previous lives. Kind acts in this life take us to the next level of heaven where we are given greater power and knowledge depending on how we show love and caring to others. Love, truth, and peace are important in this life and in the after-life.
We will fail ourselves and others many times during our earthly life, so that is why we need God to help and guide us.

It doesn't really matter how we got here in the first place. The fact is we're here, and our job is to leave the world a better place than when we came into it. Overall we're pretty insignificant and quite arrogant as a species.

We get meaning when we live with a purpose.

By definition, there can be no purpose and therefore no meaning unless we were created. So unless we assume there is a God, your question is meaningless.

But if we do assume there is a God who created us, then everything changes. However, we just can't invent things such as submitted by Zak:

If we can't have meaning without God and we want meaning, then it makes sense to seek God.
