So basically I'm looking for a car.
I'll be turning 16 soon and this is what I want. Or something like it. I've heard a lot of bad and good story's about these cars, and it's just confusing. So what should I do.. go with it or not? which one is better than the other?

If you buy a 2002 or newer SAAB 9-5 - preferably an AERO - this is a far superior automobile - they have tons of power - yet get 30 miles per gallon - they also have stability control, and a 5 star crash rating - this is perhaps the most under rated car on the raod. Check out www.genuinesaab.com - these cars with a "chip" make almost 300 HP - at 30 MPG - they are GREAT cars - and the engines ( IF THE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED REGULARLY WITH SYNTHETIC OIL ) are incredibility tough. The 5 speed models have stronger transmissions - but that is only necessay if you are trying to make more that 325 Horsepower with tuning tricks .. The Volvo is a stodgy car, makes no power, is slow, very safe and has poor resale - both have poor resale - but the volvo is worse. There are very clean Saab 9-5's on ebay - only buy from dealers - goto Wiki Saab for more info - cars are basically the same from 2002 - on ..

I'll disagree with the lot here, having driven both. If you plan on keeping the car for a long time and plan on driving a fair number of miles yearly, look into a Certified Used Saab 9-5. I like both cars but think the Saab drives better and has the excellent 2.3L turbo motor. A certified used Saab 9-5 has a largely bulletproof 6 year/100,000 mile factory warranty that is accepted at any Saab dealer in the country, including free roadside assistance. You can get the same warranty on a Certified Used Volvo, but the Volvo will cost you a lot more. Drive both and see what you think after pricing them

Good luck.

Um...there both swedish
If I was 16, and I wanted a swedish sedan, I would get either a volvo s40 or a saab 9-3.
But If I had to pick, I would get a Volvo becuase all a saab is, is an overpriced chevy in swedish disguise.
If your gonna pay that much for a car, then I would definently go with the german cars(way better) such as the bmw 3 series, mercedes c class, audi a4, or vw passat/jetta.

Most of this is fact, some is opinion. But to answer your question......There expensive to work on and i would take an s80 over a 9-5 anyday.

Honestly between the two I would say Volvo S80 but if you want a volvo then go for the S60R as its 0-60 is 5.4 seconds and will do 155 mph with out any hasitation or the C 70 coupe or convertable and if your choice is S60R then you should hurry this is the Finalyear to get the Turbo version as of next year there will be no turbo versions in the S60 lineup but an S80 is a more muture persons choice if I were you I would go for the S60R as its more boyish then the S80 and is Cheaper then the S80 aswell

Volvo by far. Saab is built poorly for instance the whole front is plastic. I had a 1997 saab Aero and someone backed into me and wrecked the front. All I did was order the parts and snap them in.
