what format does a video have to be under to upload it to youtube? i'm using powerppoint stuff, what does it have to be saved under? or can you even use it at all?

YouTube accepts videos in these formats: .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG. Since you can't save PowerPoint files under these formats, I don't think it's possible for you to upload a PowerPoint project to YouTube.

But what you can do is, to re-do your project outside PowerPoint with Window Movie Maker (WMM) because you can add almost any type of files on your WMM project like movie clips, photos, recorded audio and background music, which you can later save as a .WMV file to be uploaded on YouTube.

If you're using Mac, the software that you should be looking for (on your computer) is called the 'iMovie'. For Windows users it's 'Windows Movie Maker'.
