What is the name of that cartoon series?

I've been thinking of a cartoon series n i just cant remember the name.. It used to be on cartoon network but not any more.. the series is about a bunch of teenagers who go around saving the planet.. At the end of the show, there is always a small segment where they tell the audience messages like "reduce, reuse and recylce" and stuff like that.. i can't remember whether or not there was a super hero character in this series but im pretty sure the teenagers were just 'ordinary teens trying to make huge difference' sort of thing.. can anyone please tell me the name of the series?

captain planet, there was a super hero= captain planet, the kids were called planeteers, they had rings with powers, they also had this monkey, and they called on gaea the earth spirit

Captain planet - i think - the teenagers each had powers like wind , water , fire and earth and when they cant handle the villian themselves the used to combine their powers and Captain planet appeared.....

captain planet was a superhero who would appear whenever the kids who would combine there powerful rings consisting the elements of earth,wind,water and fire in order to save the planet from being destroyed.i use to look at it all the time when i was a kid
