O.k. Gramma Arlene I'll try to picture it.
There I am and suddenly an explosion his heard, someones leg falls in front of me. Oh wait, I don't need to picture it, I remember it. I was there. Yeah it's hell over there, but if you think it will save more Iraqi lives by us pulling out then your out of your mind.
You try picturing this: 15 kids surround you with smiles on their faces as you hand out goodies in front of a new school that was built by our servicemen and women. Or their parents laughing, shaking your hand and thanking you for helping them. Wait I'm sure you can't, because the liberal media won't show you that part of what's going on over there.
Get a clue. Not only will more people die if we leave that country, but even more terrorist will be created.

The country call IRAQ was pull together a long time ago by the UN. it consist of Kurds, Shiites and Sunnis. Everything was fine until the sunnis took control of the country. Under Saddam(a sunni or should I say use to be) things got real bad
Majority of Iragis had no money/work and he owed everyone.
But his click had all mula and lived really good. Time ran out for him and stuff hit the fan. Now, everyone is running away or want to fix the country while others want it back the same way or others want it to stage a war against USA. Overall a big mess and now it's time for us to leave before things get worse. Maybe if we leave they can fix it themselves. As for Al-queda and all the crazies lunatics well they'll find a way to start again. I mean fighting I think they like it since they don't work for a living. Maybe if they turn in their weapons, giveum a job and future I mean islamic can't forget that they stop all the senseless killing. For know is youtube videos and turbans
The democrats well is not about them is about our troops. Man what a way to go. One year + tour for what, they would have to pay me big bucks to suck sand and fleas. Okay I think you get the message. But hold up 12b a month for maintenance what's wrong with that picture. Common. I am not paying taxes unless I get a tax break in 2008 LOL

YES that is all true and we Iraqis are extremely happy that Saddam is a thing of the past, BUT this does not justify all the chaos that has ensued since 2003. And to say that the US led coalition forces cannot stop the terrorists and militias in Iraq is ludicrous! It is definitely within their capabilities, but peace in Iraq too soon would have resulted in an early withdrawal of US troops. Unfortunately that would have meant that there would not be enough time for American companies to secure the long term deals for the oil supplies in Iraq. So they had to find a way to stay a bit longer... All will be revealed in the future, but by then many more Iraqi children would have been killed or orphaned.

Iraqis will turn their attention to ridding the country of Al Qaeda, a job which they are better able to do since they will be better able to identify them than any US troops can. That will save a few lives. The Iraqis will also resolve their own civil war after we leave. No one else can do that for them.
Putting US troops in the middle is only making them targets for every disgruntled faction—Sunni groups, Shiite groups, Al Qaeda and other Iraqi factions, aligned or otherwise, who just don’t like occupiers.
Also, the Iraqi Constitution bases legislation on Islamic law, so even a stable Iraq means it will be a theocracy. The Shiites will dominate and their Shiia ally will be Iran. Bush's plan has been severely flawed from the beginning.

I'm sure there will be more lives saved, and all those people who are saved can help dispose of the weapons of mass destruction, and then you can buy this lovely bridge I have to sell. Any time a politician want to do something then they start telling everyone exactly what they want to hear. In this case it's another lie.
Bush may have had perfectly good reasons to pick a fight in Iraq. I think he hoped to prove we were willing to fight and wouldn't run away as soon as a few Ranger were killed (thanks billy). Whatever the reason it was not about WMD. WMD was the thing he had to say to get everyone to go along.
Senator Boxer is certain that pulling out of Iraq will be a political defeat for Bush and subsequently lead to more democrats in power after the next election cycle. She wants us out but saying that she wants more power would not help her cause. Saying it will save lives sounds much nicer.

The reasoning why some believe it will save Iraqi lives is because suicide bombers will no longer have the audience of the US military to blow themselves up in front of.
These minutemen in Iraq are just bored out of their minds. Even people in America, when bored, will do violent things. Teens beating up homeless people, being cruel to animals, setting garages and sheds (or even houses) on fire, stealing cars, spray painting walls... Any lawless place like Iraq is because the people are bored. Iraq is a very poor country. There is not much to do but ironically... there are plenty of high-caliber, automatic weapons to go around, "courtesy" of Iran and Al Qaeda sneaking 'em in.

What color is the sky in your world, in mine it is blue. Your numbers are childishly wrong. I am afraid that you have to face the hard reality that your Republican friends and leaders don't always tell he truth, in fact they seldom do. Not alot happened in Viet Nam after we left. They were dirt poor for a while and finally reorganized their economy along the lines of China and now are enjoying a rather substantial boom. The dreaded "Domino effect" so loudly trumpeted by the Republican hierarchy just didn't happen.

The Middle East has been at war forever. Whether we are there or not, they are going to keep fighting and killing. How long are we supposed to give up our sons and fathers for other people? If the United States had a war going on here on our ground, do you think other countries would come and help us? I think not. Get those boys home soon before my son gets killed.

Well, maybe all of you who think we should keep our troops there in that hell hole should enlist and join them. It's easy to send others to sacrifice FOR you, isn't it? Try to picture yourself walking the streets of Baghdad, knowing any minute a sniper could take you out. Try to imagine just being in such a stressful, dangerous and hopeless situation. Our military is being used for all the wrong reasons!............Hey Bigdaddy, In case you come back and read this: I don't doubt that the troops have tried to help the kids, but do you really think Iraquis are better off now than they were before we arrived to "help" them? I've read a lot of your answers and have decided you are consistently inconsistent about everything!

The democrat based far-left have actually put this country in the category of a joke to most nations. Our respect as a concerned country is falling by the wayside. The one thing that is tearing this country up is radical opposition to any Christian beliefs. In the 'End-Days', it will be Muslim against Christian/Judea.....already happening in so many countries. Ethnic cleansing........riggghhtttt !!!
