Hi,
I have a 22L tropical tank setup. Currently, I have 2 peppered catfish and 2 guppies (1 male, 1 female). What would be the maximum number of fish for this size tank, and what are your suggestions for fish to add? I am also considering adding some glass shrimp - if I can just find a store that sells them.
What are your thoughts?

I should clarify - it's a 22 litre tank, which I think equates to about 6 gallons.
Thanks for the great answers everyone, you've been really helpful!

With our standards that is a 6 gallon tank
I would get another female guppy since your male can chase the one female you have to death
Other then that you could maybe get 3 neon tetras, but that is really the limit for your tank
Your glass shrimp might be food for your fish, unless you're fine with that you can put them in
here is some info about them

Hope that helps
Good luck

A 6 gallon tank is very limited in the number and type of fish you can have, but there is no need to count inches per gallon when you can use common sense.
Cory catfish are small and low-waste fish, and you can add another one or two to make it a small school. You have room for another few guppies as well if you wish. Ghost shrimp (I think this is what you are referring to) should get along just fine in there since none of your other fish can harm them, andthey barely add to the bio-load at all, so feel free to try them (remember they really need lots of plants for security, just like the cory cats). While you can add Neons, I wouldn't, since you don't really have the room to add a proper school of them.

If you want class catfish one word of advise they do not do well in a group of less than 4, so if I were you add 5 or more glass catfish and you have to have a well planted aqurium for them too they are skittish and when stressed turn foggy white and then die, you can add more guppies maybe up too 4 small mollies. You need to check up on how big those cat fish will get.
Depending on your area glass catfish are in most aquriums in the earily part of the year before summer.
you mean 22 gallon long right? if it's not 22 gallons don't get too many more.

By 22 L I'm assuming you mean 22 liters (about 5 gallons).
I would get at least one more peppered cory - these like to be in groups. Other than that, I think your guppies will help add to the tank population! ;)

It's 1 inch of fish per gallon of water, so you go by the adult size of the fish. So you need to find out the size the fish you have now will grow to, and then you will know how many "inches" of fish you have left in the tank.

Forget the 1"/gallon rule. It's all crap. If you are willing to do maintenance (water changes and stuff like that), then you could probably put about 10 fish. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO MAINTENACE ONLY.

1" of fish per every gallon is the standard formula. Less is better. Also, filtration has a lot to do with this answer as well.

you could probably have 7 or 8 fish if they are small in this size tank. i would probably stick to neons and barbs.

you could add a couple more small fish (neon tetra size), that is about it.
