BECAUSE I AM HAVING A POOL PARTY ON SUNDAY AND I STARTED MY PERIOD TODAY..AND I CAN'T USE A PAD TO GET INTO THE WATER SO I HAVE TO USE A TAMPON..BUT I'VE NEVER USED ONE BEFORE SO SHOULD I DO IT?

You have absoloutely no need to worry. If you follow the instructions and most important 'relax' during insertion you will be just fine. It will make life alot easier and buy a small size as it will be your first time.Have fun at the party and change the tampon every 3-4 hours.

yes it is perfectly safe to use them. I am 15 and i only used pads for my first period. I don't know about other people but pads make me feel dirty. Just make sure you relax and try putting one in a couple of times to get used to it. To be honest it's the taking them out that will take getting used to because it can hurt when you first start using them. If you don't feel comfortable with them, don't use them. There is no pressure just because your throwing a pool party, if you have to come up with a creative excuse! we women are famous for using our imaginations ; ] Good luck!

It should be fine, given you are in good health. I remember the same fear. The secret at first is usually to take the standing possition and breath in and relax, do not force, have a few on hand as the first may not take, and most important, if it does not work out, do not force the situation, just say you have a crap or are not feeling all that well.

Yes, read the directions in the box. Make sure you find a comfortable position. I warn you. The first time is tricky and may hurt, but after you get use to it you may prefer them. For god sakes wear something though! Your period can bleed through your bathing suit!

It's safe as long as it feels comfortable. When I was your age, I couldn't use tampons because they hurt, but most of my friends were fine using them. So as long as it feels okay to you there's nothing wrong with it.

yes, it's fine, tampons are meant to go up there. Just remember to change it every 2 or 3 hours.

Yes. They are safe. Before you put it in, wash your hands and relax. Sometimes it can take a few times to do it correctly (if it hurts, its not in far enough), keep trying and you'll get it.

well when your whole body is under water, you don't seem to bleed. so if you want, just go in the pool freely and then RIGHT when you get out run to the bathroom and get a pad on. i hate tamps. very uncomfy to me. so just try a tamp, then if you don't like it, just do what i said i guess?

Its alright to do it but you might want to try it a couple of times before to get used to how to use it
