For your first question the answer was when Pearl Harbor was bombed.
The other answers are incorrect for the following reasons.
The Zimmerman Telegram happened in World War I, when Germany asked Mexico to support it in a wider war against the US. The Mexicans refused but the anti-German feelings helped propel the US towards war.
Rommel was beating up on the British before and after Pearl Harbor and Rommel was not responsible for the US entering the war.
Russia conquered Berlin in 1945, four years after Pearl Harbor.
To the second question the answer is the Polish Corridor. Hitler actually made the statement of expanding German borders to protect German speakers who lived their to justify his take overs of both Czechoslovakia and Austria. But he did not actually use military force until September 1st 1939 when he invaded Poland. Both Britain and France said that he would not be allowed to seize any parts of Poland and further more that if he did so it would led to war. September 1st 1939 is regarded as the day World War II began in Europe. Hope this helps.

You are confusin WWI and WWII - Zimmerman Telegram was WWI.
Officially - the US entered the war because they were attacked at Pearl Harbor, the "day that will live in infamy."
Hitler wanted Poland, the Polish Corridor, Danzig! He Invadad Poland on Sept 1, 1939. The other territories had already been taken, without war.
DeSaxe is correct about US troopd defending the government of China - ", China had already experienced inner conflict at the hands of Mao’s guerilla army attacks and Japan’s 1931 invasion of Manchuria. The U.S. Fourth Marines having been sent to protect American citizens years prior, the 1930s saw their numbers and need for intervention increase. As FDR took office for his first term, his advisors informed him that the Japanese had built a superior military force. Soon afterward the Japanese would quit the League of Nations over criticism of their presence in Manchuria. With Japan’s withdrawal from the League of Nations in 1933, tensions in Asia had become increasingly heated. "
This was the beginning of Japan's control in the Pacific.

The Japanese ferociously attacked the US on the 7th of December 1941 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Subsequently, three days later the remaining Axis powers of Germany and Italy declared war on the US. Prior to all of these events Germany annexed the Rhineland in western Germany, which was forbidden by the Versailles treaty after WW1: following this event, they also annexed Austria and Czechslovikia pre-war. The Allies decided to appease Germany rather than wage another war, which obviously occured in September of 1939 with the German invasion of Poland with the USSR advancing in eastern Poland. Hope this helps..

It was the Pearl Harbor attack.
Regarding then Zimmerman telegram, Mexico did not side with Germany. Rather, the telegram revealed that Germany was trying to get Mexico's support, by promising that some of their former territories (the American Southwest was northern Mexico before the 1840's) would be returned. It alerted the US to Germany's devious strategies too close to home.

The day after the Pearl Harbor attack, December 7th, 1941, President Roosevelt went before the US Congress and asked for a formal declaration of War with Japan in retaliation. With the exception of Janet Rankin (Montana), the US Congress voted unamiously for War.
President Roosevelt never asked for war with Italy or Germany before the Congress. Instead, three days after December 7th, Italy and Germany declared war on the United States.

America was provoked to enter WW II by the bombing of Pearl Harbour. In fact the peaceful atmosphere prevailing at Pearl Harbour is an indication of American mood. So I don't see any provocation for an early entry. German subs were routinely surfacing near American coastal towns to buy bread and such essentials, between 1939 and 1941. One thing that was glaring was that the American forces didn't share with the European forces any intense animosity, displaying against each other. It was an exception with the Japanese. Here too Americans were retaliating against the Japanese brutalities in battles, like their executions of captured soldiers instead of taking them prisoners. Another area where Americans differed and took the lead, is the scientific research that went into developing new weapon systems. They saw WW II as an opportunity and in any case no battles were fought in their country nor anywhere near, thus providing the required atmosphere for development of such systems. The "raison de etre" that was supplied to the Americans was the suppression of Militarism/Fascism/Nazism that was quickly replaced with Communism later. In later years this sequence of events of WW II has cast America into the mold of 'defender of freedom or free society' and its commitment, even when the country is safe unlike the other countries. That America can enter a war unprovoked, merely motivated by some kind of ideology was established firmly. It remains the corner stone of its policy and a potent factor in global matrix of security systems. Perhaps this gives a handle to those who seek to manipulate America.

You are mixing WW1 with WW2. The Zimmerman telegram and Mexico siding with German was WW1.
The US entered WW2 on 7 December 1940 under an emergency seccesion of Congress in which all but one congress member voted for a Declaration of War against the Empire of Japan.
Churchills fears were resolved on December 11th When German & Italy declared war on the USA.
The US had mercinaries (the Flying Tigers) fignthing under the Chinese flag, in China supporting the Chinese in their fight with Japan, mostly private funded by some public funds did support them. After the massacares in NanKing this actions had wide publc support.
