Hi there,
In advance, Thank you for your reply. I've just begun training with a main company that takes in a lot of kids ages 5 to 13. For each class I handle from 3 to 5 kids at a time. I've begun with some training and now I am getting paid. I however have been curious to know if there are some standard certificates you need prior to becoming a swimming intructor. My boss mentioned I didn't have to bother with taken any? I just started this job and due to their horrible management, they seem a bit careless even in these type of matters. My question is, is he right in saying that I don't need any kind of certificate? Can you coach swimming without any certificate or is there something you definitely have to have prior to teaching?

Sincerely,
K

You do not legally need any certifications to teach swimming. However, there are certifications that are useful and helpful. The American Red Cross WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certification is great to have an extremely useful. A Lifeguard certification can be helpful as well. If you get your WSI and Lifeguard (which includes CPR/AED/First Aid) you can apply for a USA Swimming coach's certificate through a local USA club or team.

Though it's not required by law, having a background in these things is very helpful when teaching.

Check with the pool that you are having lessons at, and check with the pool management company. You really should get trained, it really helps out a lot. And if there is no lifeguard on duty while you are teaching, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE arrange for one of get yourself certified. Don't get Red Cross, their certification sucks. Get an Ellis & Associates license. They can also certify you to teach swim as well.

Grundle, yet its actual. in case you employ the great absorbent tampons then it does suck out each and all the water from a pool or any physique of water. its embarrassing it occurred to my chum's chum.
