I read comic books, and the related graphic novels. Mauz was a great graphic novel that had nothing to do with superheroes and let me reccommend anything by Will Eisner. He renamed the art form, "sequential art" and pushed it beyond the confinements of capes and abilities "far beyong those of mortal men."

I would prefer to call them graphic novels and my boyfriend got me hooked on reading marvel comics some dc is good also but I like marvel
