I knock them down each morning before I shower. I get up the next morning an there's another one. There are no bugs or flies in there. Do you think they are confused as to where they're suppose to build them at?

In dry weather, it is a genetic thing. Water means life to so many other bugs that spiders gravitate to where the "food" OUGHT to be. Spray the walls with a mist of 409. They don't like that.

The answers already given have covered most of the methods spiders use to construct webs. But one neat feature was not covered. Some spiders migrate using their webs. They build a small (big to them) sac like structure out of their web when they are at the top of a bush or tree(or man made structure) and when the air currents are right, they release it dragging them with it like we would in a balloon. There are certain areas where you can actually see them migrating on their webs. I saw this once in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Well, what do you know? Someone else has the same problem!

I have concluded that they spontaneously generate from the soap dish...or some other residue on the tile. It's the only logical explanation. I mean, where DO they come from?

I feel like telling them that they really blew it when they decide to set up camp in the bathtub or shower. (But, they wouldn't listen.) Often, I remove them to the back yard. I feel sorry for them. Stupid arachnids.

Spiders like corners, damp places, high places. There may not be no bugs but the see you and might want to come down on you and bite ya.

No, but I bet it has to do with the water. Maybe the water will lure other bugs there, which is why the spider makes a web there.
