My meanest fish was a JackMax, a hybrid between a Jack Dempsey & a Trimac. They fought every once and a while, but nothing serious... then they decided to lay eggs & they killed a green terror & ithslatum 2-3x their size in one day, no small feat as neither of those fish are whimps. The green terror had a very bad attitude while we're on the subject. As they get older, they get more & more evil.

Snakehead is pretty evil.

I want to try a peacock bass next though. They seem really mean from the youtube videos of them at feeding time.

Oscars aren't particularly mean. Pirhana are total whimps. my Exilon Paradox tank would rip a pihrana to shreds in a few seconds. Oscars can hold their own in a fight,. but they're not very mean personality wise.

Oscars are pushovers and not aggressive, just very hungry. Almost any large size cichlid can beat the tar out of them. I find it funny somebody mentioned betta's, which get along with fish as meek as neons.

It's impossible to state the most aggressive fish, since there are hundreds of equally territorial and aggressive types - meaning they'll attack and kill anything you shouldn't be putting in the tank or if you cram them into too small a tank with other fish.

Any fish can be aggressive, they're all different, it depends on how you look at.E.g piranhas are aggressive when there are many of them. Bettas are aggressive to other male bettas. I dont think chiclids are really aggressive they just eat other fish that are smaller than them, thats nature not aggression. You then get fish that are terrotorial e.g an angel, sharks. Arrowana arent that aggressive if they are with fish around the same size. Its all about placing fish with the right fish.

i've got have been given usual and albino tiger barbs in a 30 gallon tank. you additionally can discover green barbs. they are not getting lots greater suitable than 2.5 inches. quite a few species of gourami and freshwater angelfish are very captivating and colourful too. i does not combination gourami or freshwater angelfish with the barbs inspite of the incontrovertible fact that. The barbs discover their flowing fins impossible to withstand and could nip at them each and every of the time.
