It really depends on the geography of the question. Ask this in Memphis and you'll get Elvis, ask it anywhere else and everyone will give you a 50/50 answer.
With Marley being more political and (in my opinion) murdered by the government, he's more of a legend. Alongside John Lennon, Marley inspired many. Then again, Elvis inspired Lennon.

Sorry to the answerer above me, but Elvis is more of a legend than Marley.
That is not to say he was a better musician.
If it weren't for Donelle, fewer people would even know who Bob Marley is.
Even the kids of today know Elvis! That is true legend status.

Because He was a musical Prophet who's message in His beautiful music was of love and not war,brotherhood,rebellion against injustice, freedom, and a whole bunch of great things too numerous to name.. Bob Marley transformed Reggae from a provincial music into an international sensation. Bob Marley. His music continues to inspire people around the globe and his music had universal appeal. His messages of peace and love are more profound and significant than Elvis. (Not to negate his status as a musical icon). It really is just a matter of opinion though. The were both well respected artists.
