There is nothing in the MLB rules in regards to maximum innings allowed. Teams simply will play until a winner is determined. One thing that's interesting about your question is that Major League Baseball recently adopted a new rule to avoid tie games.

"4.10a (d) If a regulation game is called with the score tied, it shall become a suspended game."

Because of this rule it's possible a game could go 20+ innings and be suspended and then continued at a later date. The game would pickup right were it left off. It hasn't happened yet, but it could.

I think in the old days of baseball they used to have a max innings allowed. But now they play until someone wins.

They do not call draws in baseball. It could go on and on and on, they might have to postpone it til the next day so they can finish it, but they will not call it a draw.

To the person above me, that rule was used at least twice that I know of. It was a Marlins game earlier this year, it went extra innings it started raining so they suspended it, so they finished it before the the next game. And also a Cubs- Pirates game, Cubs took the lead in the 7th, it started raining before the bottom of the 7th so they suspended it because the Pirates didn't get a official at bat in the 7th. Which I found odd because up til this year all games after the bottom of the 5 were official games.

sorry if I made no sense lol

Since parks now have lights, there is no max. Back in the day when stadiums had no lights, there were MANY tie ballgames.
