Well I just bought this game today, Lord of the Rings Online. And I have all the stuff that came with it. I also found out that you have 30 days free. The only problem is that when I tried to make my account, they said I need a credit card. Well I dont have one. So why do they want me to have a credit card if I have 30 days free? It just doesn't make sense.

Can anyone help me? Like tell me if I can do anything about it? Because I really wanted to play this game, and it's a bummer if I can't.

It's also to verify and ensure that you are mature and responsible enough to abide by whatever agreement you must sign in order to complete the transaction as well as proving you are old enough to enter into this contract.
30 days "free" means what?
What happens after thirty days...are you expected to pay then for additional playing time? If so, and I suspect this is the case, then it would be charged to the Credit Card number you give them...or what? send them cash? a check? Nope, doesn't work quite that way.
Basically, their policy for anyone to open an account is to secure the account with a credit card which you may or may not have to use. Almost any vendor would have a similar policy.

I use my debit card w/o problems. They want the credit card when the 30 days free expire they will start charging you.

Because they plan on billing you at some point. They're loaning you something and asking for collateral.
