I have been surfing around Y/A! just looking at political and American questions..and some answers I found were astonishing...I see people who live here talking horribly about this country..and how much they hate it..and how they wouldn't defend the country if their lives depended on it...well my question is:
For the people who hate America so much, and hate everything it stands for...then why do you live here?
It dosen't make since..they're are plenty of other countries...i mean..France, England, Austrailia..If America is so bad then M0VE away!
noone wants to hear your b*tching and complaining on how bad this country is.
Anyway..back to my question: If you hate it so bad...then why don't you get on an airplane or a boat and LEAVE!?

Debra H: No I saw people sayin America was a good for nothing country..and they wouldn't stick up for it if their lives depended on it.
And to all the people saying "well there wouldn't be any jobs or this or that" That is why you shouldn't say things about America because you know you couldn't have a better life anywhere else.

I agree completely Doc L. I do not agree with alot of things George Bush has done..and I am a republican...but we made a mistake...the whole country did by electing him...but that dosen't mean you need to hate the country and America..we live in a wonderful place..and are very lucky to live here...people just need to realize what we have because it could be alot worse.

I am one who doesn't hate it, but I know what you mean. Comments that say the US is the worst country in the world make me wonder the same as you. I have no idea why they just don't move somewhere else. I'm not happy with Bush over some of the things he has done, but instead of complaining about how bad he is I look for other people who are concerned about the same things and ways to do something about it. I won't let one president ruin my patriotism --- not since 9/11. That taught me to be grateful for what we have. Things can change if we inform ourselves and work on them issue by issue.

I don't hate this country. But a lot of people seem like they hate the country, only because of what is currently going on in the world. The war in iraq, all of the terrorism. Not many people agree with the war, and why we got involved in the first place. If the people agreed with what is going on, and felt strongly, then i feel that more people would be willing to fight. With George Bush in office, i know we voted him in the first and second time, which may be mistakes, he is making unwise decisions. If we would have a president that would make wiser decision, i believe that more people would show their patriotism and love for the country. The problem is that we have to wait a couple more years for a change, and after the change, hopefully many of the problems will start to be solved, and the patriotism and love will be shown again. I think that the people actually love the country, otherwise they WOULD leave. It is just a hard time in this country with all that is going on.

As one of the people who bitches about the country, I am not making my comments about the country,, I am only making the comments about how it is run. And how it is run will change. That doesn't mean, just because I hate the president I want to leave the country. It doesn't mean that I'm not proud to be an American. That's one of the things that is such a wonderful thing about our country, you can complain about it all you want, first ammendment, and there is nothing they can do to you. You have your right of speach. I can say what I want and you or anyone else can't stop me from complaining about the way the country is being run and the way my tax money is being spent.
I know I have options to live anywhere, and I chose to live here. I'm sure that there are a lot of people who complained under Clinton, should they have been thrown out of the country when they complained, or is this just something that Republicans have a right to say.

Americans, including me, tend to overstate things. Right now, we are going through a very rough period because we have a President who doesn't listen to us and a Congress who. though better, also isn't listening to us. We have been fed lies from the people we elected, and that has been 100% proven. BUT we can't seem to get our Congress to do much about it. We are at a time when the people in power care only about staying there. We are also in a time when the citizens have been polarized by the tactics used by the people in power. They have turned one group of citizens against one another.
It will take the next election in 2008 to sort ourselves out again, hopefully not longer. Many of us want to apologize to the rest of the world for out arrogance. Right now, we are not being led by people who want to follow the legacy of our proud past, and they do not want to follow the laws of our land. But the people who can do something about it are also in the group in power, so the nonsense continues.
I do not want to leave my country, but I do not support the garbage that is being done in my name, meaning in the name of the citizens of our once proud nation. We are very close to tyranny with George Bush and Dick Cheney. Unfortunately we just don't have a mechanism that would allow us to call for new elections like they have in other nations. If so, we would, and things would change.
Please be patient with us.

You have a very Distorted view of Americans.....
The #1 Reason why Americans talk Negatively towards America is because They want it to be The Best Country in The World and they feel Helpless in terms of Fulfilling that Dream....
Why should they leave America when they pay Taxes and have more than 1 Job just to Support their Family??...
I Hope This Helps.......

i am not really answering your question I am asking another question. When you were looking at all these comments, did you actually see people saying they hated the country... or was it people, like myself, who think our country is wonderful, but disagree wholly with the present government on what it is doing to the country.
They are really two different things...
i am just curious.

It is called freedom of speech. Too bad it includes all the hatred and whining. But on the other hand alittle venting doesn't hurt anything and maybe by venting on the web, they calm down afterward. We just like to complain so we can keep on keepin on.

Many talk the talk but when it comes to actually doing something they of course do nothing.
I guess some take a que from their favorite trash talking celebs like Alec Baldwin and his ex who threatened to move away years ago but well yea.... same deal.

although leaving sounds like a good solution, its not as easy as it sounds. Also, foreign countries can be scary for someone who just up and moves to one.
And Americans complain because this country does suck sometimes, and we don't care if its worse other places
