How old do you have to be to own a business?

In most places you have to be 18 to sign contracts. It would be difficult to own a business without that ability, though there probably are ways.

business contracts are slightly different then personal contracts. I know in Nebraska, you can be a minor and if you enter into a business contract you are liable.

There really isn't a minimum age to where you can own a business. Usually with teenagers its only small scale but theres a few that do well enough.

Not old at all, I think so long as you're legal age to work, you'll be legal age to work for yourself. So if that's 14 where you live, then at 14 you can start your own. But you may need help securing financing, though sometimes it's easier the younger you are because old people just get all fascinated.

Well that depends on if you went/go to college or not..... I really think before you start your open business you should look deeply into it, because from what i hear, it is HARD.

I'd say 20 something.
