I had no spark then I replaced the coil and condenser and managed to get a small JOLT but still nothing at the plug I am new to this but I have fixed my share of motors in the past. could it be the magnets on the fly wheel? Do I just have to ajust the clearance between the magnets and coil? is there a step I missed or another part I need to check (the plug is new of course) thanks for the advice on the points but it seems to be right on with your last suggestion any other ideas

well i replaced the entire ignition system with still no luck I cannot seem to adjust the space between the magnets and coil it just rotates left and right not bck and forth I bet one of you guys could figure this out in about 5 minutes. I can't seem to get the business card distance required I have adjusted all I can find the points are perfect the wiring has been checked and rechecked Is there any thing else I could try besides tying a rope to it and making it an anchor

does this model have the cam (for points) built into the crank or is it removable? on the removable type if the cam is removed and put back on upside down it will not have the correct duration (points will not open correctly) also have you replaced the plug wire itself, even if it has good continuity it can leak under the high coil out put. give more info on model and horsepower. if the magnets will grab and hold a screwdriver or wrench they are strong enough

Not sure of the engine. But, first be sure the spark plug is good, it not happen often but they can "Open" and not allow the Voltage to go through. To adjust the Pickup coil clearance, I do similar to the first answer and use a Business Card. ;-)
Also, I have been told this has nothing to do with it, but, it has seem to work for myself. Gently sand off any rust (Fine Sandpaper that non-conductive) on the flywheel and pickup coil. Be sure you not sand any insulation off wires.

You need a small gap between any coil & flywheel. I use a Canadian cigarette pack, as it's the ideal thickness.
Run emery cloth over the magnets to clean them up and make sure you have a good coil ground. Verify your wiring to the coil and your ignition system if you have one.

probably the magnets. go to an NGK B6S plug or a Champion J4C gapped at .025". if that doesn't do it you'll need to find another flywheel i think.
