Very interesting question indeed!
I feel that the real problem for the animals, concerning their predicament, is that they would use language (which humans use and create countless problems for their selves) to try and solve, or at least voice what the problem was. I am sure you remember the predicament that ensued in 'George Orwell's' "Animal Farm". I am just not convinced, or sure, that the use of thinking, which requires language and meaning, will ever result in the solving of any problems; either for the farm animals at the hands of humans, or for humans at the mercy of one another.
Philosophically, this is an extremely difficult question to deal with because one can only assume that the animals would have to use language as humans do; and therefore only arguments and anger would come from their discussion of what to do.
Ah, language and meaning are tricky beasts.

I sure do hope I will provide an adeguate amount of strength for the man that consumes me and I certainly hope I do not sicken him. I wish to be as productive as possible. It is of the utmost importance that I fulfill my life's purpose. Oh I sure do hope that I please master. I must maintain his happiness, I must maintain his order. His order has saved me from my old ways. I was wrong, I was savage, it was wrong, there was no law. And look where I am now. I am ready to offer my ultimate contributon to the man who has saved me. But what is the point of having this peace if I do not enjoy it. His intentions have always been to cut my life short. I know it! That conniving swindler! He has never cared for my happiness. I will not submit myself to his system.
NO! NO! NO!
How could I allow for such awful thoughts to enter my mind? I am important. There is no need or purpose in trying to cause disorder in the system. After all, he gives me the fields, doesn't he? He allows me to graze without watching out for predators. It is better with the system. Master could be grazing in the fields, but no, he leaves it all for us! Man is good. I must give thanks to man each time I go out to graze. I can do no more with my life than I do when I give it to him. I should tell the other animals of this. They need to know. It will make the system smoother. The system MUST be smooth. Man must be pleased...

I would quickly lead the chickens out of bondage into the promised land, far beyond the confines of the hen house and the proximity of the chopping block. Where worms shall fall from the skies, and the peeps will inherit the earth.

Well, I would first have an innate dislike of all humans. I mean... they're going to at some point eat me, most likely. To tell the truth, that would really spoil the whole thing for me, I don't care who it is, I probably wouldn't like him or her very much. He or she is gonna eat me. That right there would sour me to the whole human thing.

I'd be the herd dog.
My humans won't eat me or make me a pie.
They often will pet me and sometimes confide.
I'd warn them of danger and sit at their feet.
I'd round up the cattle and enjoy their treats.
I'd keep the kids safe and in them I'd abide,
So when the snow comes, they will let me inside.

I think it was Mark Twain who said, " When you die and go to heaven, don't bring your dog, because he will be let in and you won't if they judge you on merit."
