I have never had an itch in my vulvar area last forever, but sometimes I've had it last for several weeks.

As for not having the cream help, no, I've not had that problem but it sounds to me like they might not be treating the right kind of infection if the cream isn't helping.

This can often be the case when the thought is that it's a yeast infection but it turns out to be something like bacterial vaginosis.

I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the dr that you currently see.
