It has not gone to court and still in discovery. I was planning on selling my house and moving in two years, which would be before a case has gone to court. Can I sell the house beofre a judgement is made?

Create an Equity Holding Land Trust and have the Trust hold title to the house. Name at least one co-beneficiary and if you get sued the house can't be attached to the suit. You and the co-beneficiary can direct the trustee to sell the house at any time you wish.

E-mail me if you'd like more information. Or, better yet, go to www.landtrust.net

Are you guilty? It sounds like it. Why would you not defend yourself against a lawsuit and sell your house before it goes to court?

Selling your house won't keep them from getting a judgement against you.

It's my understanding that if you are being charged in court, and you sell your your house and you are found guilty of those charges, the proceeds from the sale can be taken to satisfy the judgement.

Of course. You can do anything you want to up to the day before court, and it wont come back to haunt you in court that you were trying to avoid or hide your finances.
