Would we have a better chance of getting a third or fourth party in the white house?

I wouldn't mind that as long as we restrict all donations to individuals, not just corporations. No special interest groups, no churches, etc.

Has to be equal.

the problem for the third and fourth party people is that most people have trimmed elections down to an either/or decision... They feel like a vote for a third party candidate is a vote wasted. There are two major players in every election, and usually there is one that people say "I definitely don't want this person to win"... so even if they don't like the other main candidate, they'll vote for that one just to keep the one they hate out of office.

As is though, I would vote for a bill that keeps corporations from giving money to candidates.... On both the left and right wings, candidates are having their votes bought by these big companies. The government is no longer serving the population as a whole, they are serving their contributors. Again, that's on both sides of the aisle.

yes, in a heartbeat. gladly. must be done to restore any confidence in the government. it is eroding very quickly for everybody but politicians and generals and admirals. oh, and goverment employees i guess. they are pretty push at the post office where i live. a big huge malignant growth is what the whole tangled mess has become. not sure when it gained critical mass and the meltdown really began. do you?
