Please understand I had family that I lost in the Trade Towers. Canada put together doctors, ambulance, firemen, police and medical supplies to help in when the Trade Towers came down. The Canadians were sent home and were told that their help wasn't needed. So I ask if you feel that you are the only country that helps others why do turn down the help of other counties. Could it be because Canadians can do it better. We didn't start a war when a plane was taken down in Lockerbie Scotland. We were the country asked to report on whether or not the Iraqi's had nuclear weapons before the war broke out. We told the world there was none available. To this day none have reported as being used by either side.
American's cut up Canada for entering into a war that was not sanctioned. We did when it was sanctioned.
In the Second World War the American's were the last country to enter the war. They did not until they were hit.
Makes me wonder.

For Dead Marxist - the answer to your question is that Canadians are very proud and respected nation in the world.
We don't need to pushed into war by terroists...they are men that have been trained by men or should I call them boys that haven't grown up and never will.
Think back to the WWW II - Hitler had a vendeta and he began to wage war - mind you he was mental.
Maybe terrorist are mental too. :)

To Lindsay - Canadians died in the Trade Towers too.
I had a Canadian cousin and American family memeber that died.
Just that they wouldn't let us help and they stated they didn't want our help. Then they asked why we wouldn't join them in war when they asked.

To B. Kavorkian - you are not most power nation in the world - Remember Gulf War - the US spent a great deal of money on making sure that Israel didn't enter into the war. They are much more powerful militarily than the US.

As far as me being anti-American; that I am not my husband is American. A good number of my family is American. I just don't understand why there is so much distention between both countries. But will say that the Department of Defense of Canada in 64 countries in the world and yes they do and will help any one in the world. It just seems that the US is out for them selves no matter what they are involved in. At least it just seems that way to most Canadians.

Stone K. - I was educated in England, Ireland and Canada. I learnt a bit about the states. The same as Americans really don't much about Canada...that is the problem...that is why we are different...It just seems to me that America cries at every little thing that doesn't go there way. They blamed Canada for the entry of men that flew those planes (your country trained them / in Florida). Your country blamed us for the black out (caused in America). I am trying to understand why both countries are at each other. I also don't want to become part of the US. Though I do respect that America like Canada is trying to help the world but just find it hard when they wage an unsanctioned war over others. I also don't think that all American's fell that what is happening is correct. I also feel that as people of the world we should attempt to live in harmony but it is hard when some American's want the world to think like them. Everyone should have a say in how they want to live.

I have a friend who is a medic and an American, he volunteered to go to new york and they turned him away too, not because for any other reason than they had more than enough help at the time, so I am sure the offer was appreciated but new york was crawling with aide workers and more would have just made the situation more difficult.
No you did not start a war with Libya, but the US sure did put a hurt on them until they gave us the ones responsible.
Who said Saddam had Nukes? He was however looking for weapons of any kind (historical fact) and in the early 80's he did have a plant capable of building Nukes (fortunately Israel destroyed it before it went on-line). Oh and you do realize that we did locate stockpiles of illegal weapons, but not the large quantities that were reported in the original intelligence reports, right?
As for the second world war... My what history books do they hand you in Canada? because the US was supplying aide to the UK, Australia, China and many other allies long before we entered the war. However the vast majority of the people were isolationist at the time and the politicians could not go in to a war without public support. Look up the transfer of fifty (50) US destroyers that were "sold" to the UK near the beginning of the war. WE dramatically reduced OUR navy to support YOUR commonwealth.
Makes me wonder if you have any real understanding of the US out side of what you pick up off the TV.

F*** you and your pissass wondering. If it wasn't for The US action in world war II, you dumbasses would be goosestepping or praying to the rising sun. Canada will always be akin to your sissylalafounders the french. They also owe us an insurmountable debt. What has Canada done for the world beside ride the coattails of the great United States? The last monumental thing your sissyf***ing country did is report a sighting of Bigfoot in the Yukon. Get real toots and learn from the best. Like you Canadian canuck f***s could have made a difference in the outcome of the 9/11 tragedy. Napolean is gone and forgotten, little people. Start thinking big like us.....
Wow, you sure can spell good...wine is what you drink isn't it??? Maybe you should get past your 5th grade loggers education and take an ESL class....

That's the problem we hear all the time the politicians putting words in our mouth saying the American people want this and they want that.
You know if they were really concerned what we wanted they would let us answer those questions I mean real people who really have to work for a living and who have medical bills to pay and who can't afford the high price of medications people resorting to living in the streets because they can't keep up with the high cost of taking care of them and people here illegally and otherwise.
We are the richest country in the world and we continue ignore our own U.S citizens our politicians if you watch the news are always helping other countries and whining about Mexico for sure when right here in our own country people are without work and starving unable to see a doctor.
Again we the people don't feel that way we are concerned I believe for everyone in the world but you should feed your family first!

America has a strong isolationist streak. Far from what you imply, most Americans don't think much about the role of thier country in helping the rest of the world, and generally resent the idea that 'we' /should/ be. That's also why America tends to enter into conflicts only when threatened or, more likely, attacked, itself.
9/11 dragged America precipitously into conflicts that other nations had been dealing with for decades. But, Americans hadn't been paying much attention, so the impulse was to 'fight back' without really having a good handle on who we were fighting.
Having gotten that out of our systems, we're back to the isolationist impulse and just want to 'get out' again.
It is ironic that one of the most powerful and influencial countries on earth has a populace that, by and large, prefers not to use that power and influence at all.

In many cases we are the only ones who can help the world and many in the world resent us for our generosity. Maybe the Canadian help was turned away because it truely wansn't needed. I wasn't there and neither were you so we don't know exactly why Canada's help was refused.
Have you never turned down an offer of help in your life?
I don't really care if Canadians like us, it would be nice if they did because we are neighbors and I certainly have nothing but respect for Canadians, but we should not have to kiss your @$$ to get you to like us.

As far as I am concerned there isn't anyone, person or country doing what is best for our world! God's land is one of abundance so what in the devil could be the explanation for anyone of us to go to bed hungry or anyone of us to live in unhealthy and unsafe conditions? Especially our world's children! How can anyone sail off on their yacht---eat or sleep in a 2 star much less 5 star anything until each and every one of us who are in this world have what they need to survive? It doesn't matter to me why any one country or person hasn't already spoken up for this injustice. It matters to me that each and every person in this world stop this insane behavior from this point forward! Placing blame does nothing more than create more debate---What is the debate about? This world has souls, down to the smallest and most helpless souls, our children, living in horrific conditions! Why? Didn't God provide more than enough to go around? Yes, he did! Some of us have gotten greedy. Are you one of those souls? I pray, for your soul, that you are not!
My prayer for tonight is that everyone on this universe go to sleep tonight with a full belly and a safe place to lay their head! What is yours?
God's Speed and Grace,
Nancy

I don't feel that way and I think nowadays most of us don't. As far as turning away Canadian doctors, there were doctors in the US who were turned away because all the victims died and there was little need for them. As for the rest of your comments, they just lead me to conclude you are anti-American period, so I won't comment.

I don't but I mean we are Americans....we are not going to say bravo bravo Canadians. Thank you Canada but our fire fighters died. It was our country that suffered. We are not just going to say thank you for our brave Canadian heroes. We will appluad our fire fighters who died for THEIR country. I thank you though for your help. In my opinion...also...we should not be trying to "help" the world. Countries have their own governments (democratic or not) so that they can do things on their own. I am sorry for the loss of your relative but all I am saying is the attack happened in AMERICA and in the days, weeks, months and years following those attacks AMERICA... not America and Canada banded together and we had pride for OUR country not Canada. You need to understand thatthis was an attack on AMERICA...yes Canadians did die but the attack was aimed towards us and there is not really any time to think about other countries when this attack was so close to home...you would not know unless you were an American what went on in this country in the days following those attacks.
