I just had my doctor's appointment and the doctor checked my cervix and found out that it was closed and I have to go back on Thursday to have the doctor check again. The doctor was going to induce me, but i have no idea right now. The doctor is planning on another ultrasound because he can't tell if the baby has turned yet and I think if she hasn't turned why can't he just schedule me for a c-section to get it over with instead of waiting another week. My due date is July 14th, just so you know. I am wanting to have my baby now. Should I tell my doctor how I feel about how this is going or what?

Don't rush it, babies come at their own pace and you could go from closed to ready to push in a matter of hours. I know its very uncomfortable right now but if there is no medical reason to induce then you are better off to wait and let nature take its course.

It is your choice how your baby is born. These days, most Drs will actually encourage you to have a scheduled c-section. Alot will also induce labor. Induction and c-sections are easier for Drs and they make more money.
Your baby will come when he or she is ready. Some women dont dialate until right before giving birth...others may be say 2 cms dialated for weeks before giving birth. I was just barely at 1 cm 3 days before I had my son.
At this point you could go to bed tonight and wake up in the morning in labor. Anyone whos ever had a baby knows exactly how anxious the last week or 2 of pregnancy can be. If I were you, I'd just spend time getting things ready for the baby and do things that you wont be able to do for a long time like go see a movie or just sit and read a book in peace. God bless you and your baby!

(WISE WORDS OF MY GRANDMOTHER)
Sounds like that baby isn't ready to come out yet!!! Every time that i was pg, or anyone else that i know for that matter, the docs have always said that the due date is plus or minus two weeks. So just cuz the doc said that your baby should be here on the 14th, that doesn't mean anything. He is only human and could have miscalculated and for as far as you know the due date could be the 28th. Unless there is something seriously wrong, i wouldn't suggest to go and force that child out, just cuz you are wanting to have the baby. If all is fine at your next ultrasound then give it a week, that baby will come when he/she is ready. Obviously, (unless there are complications), that child is not fully ready.

the baby will come when it is ready. this is just the first time you have to relinquish control and give it to the baby, it will not be the first time. your baby is now your life, you have to plan around them. July 14th is still a few days away, anything could happen. most first timers do go past their due date though. i was so anxious, i went past my due date by 2 days. i don't think you need to tell the doctor how you feel, thats how everyone feels and they probably will not induce you based on that. you don't want the baby out till they are ready and healthy and they'll know when it is.

Be patient. Believe it or not, the baby knows when it's time to be born. The help they get is a signal from the pituitary gland in your brain to start the action. As was formerly stated, you can go from completed closed and open and ready for labor within a hour. You really don't want to have a CSection if you can help it and to induce labor with the Pectin, will cause your labor to be much harder and the pressure greater. The 14th is not that far off and again - already stated - your actual due date could be off. I was scheduled for Jan 24th - and my daughter showed up Jan 31. Be patient mommy - it is going to be worth the wait....

Remember that your due date is an ESTIMATE. If you were dated by an ultrasound it could be 5 days off. I understand your anxiety about bringing baby home and you want to get rid of those dang maternity clothes already!!! Perhaps you should take this time to get your house better organized, make and freeze some casseroles, Take a walk (last walk alone perhaps) and go see a movie. My hubby made us a 'last date night' while it was just still the two of us and it was really nice. Good luck with all!

I went into labor for my first child 3 days after my Dr told me that I was gonna be one of the "lucky" women that he would have to induce. I was completely closed and he said a little hard. I just hope the same for you. I would try to go as natural as possible

My doctors guess was early by 2 weeks, it seems that they are in a hurry now days to get the baby out. I say if you feel good and you aren't low on fluid wait it out. Do what you think is best.
