the slope of a horizontal line is b. m=0

conversely, the slope of a vertical line would be undefined.

The answer is zero because slope is rise over run and the value for the "rise" part is always 0 since its y values don't change. If it were a vertical line, the slope would be undefined.

If the line if horizontal then the change in y = 0 (all points have the same y value)

since slope = change in y/change in x the slope would be

0/change in x = 0
