"Currently" coaching NCAA football?

My answer, in this order....

1. Bobby Bowden (293-80-4 with FSU, Two National Championships and with an impressive 366-112-4) I think this guy is the best, of all the "current" coaches.

2. Jim Tressel (62-14 at OSU and 197-71-2 and One National Championship) Its are to argue about this one.

3. Pete Carroll (65-12 with USC and Two National Championships and Mutiple Hesimans) Again I can't why anyone wouldn't have this guy in their top 5 coaches.

4. Joe Paterno (41 years with the same team should be enough, but what stands out. 363-121-3 With PSU, 22-10-1 Bowl record which is the best all-time! And two National Championships)

5. Urban Meyer (Very very impressive coach. 61-12 overall record. 5-0 Bowl Record. 2 MWC Championships, 1 National Championship, 1 SEC Championship)

How could you argue against this?

I messed up putting JoePa 4th on the list, yes I know, lol.

I was in a hurry and wasn't paying much attention to it.

I don't think you can argue against that list. But I would have Bowden and JoePa one and two, instead of Bowden one JoePa four.

Can't argue with that list, I may not like a couple- Bowden and Carrol- but I respect that they are good. I would have put JoePa a bit higher, and Bowden #2, but it's good, got teh top 5, just wrong order. The only erason that I think Bowden should be lower is the following quote from his own son:
"he rides around on his golf cart, sips tea, and takes naps"
-Tommy Bowden
I find this hard to believe, but I'd still put him 2

Carroll is a better coach then Tressel. Carrol came to a USC program that was destroyed. he rebuilt it from the ground up. Tressel inherited an already good OSU program.

Bowdens best days are far behind him as are Joe Pas. Both are and were great coaches but I dont see their teams contending for national titles anymore.

Les Myles at LSU is underrated IMO.

i do agree with ur list but i hate to say this i love bowden so he is first but i hate paterno but he should be sencond or third but bowden is definalty first he has the 2 most consective bowl games and has the record for most career wins but i think pete carroll shoud be 4th i say lets see how he does in the future see if he can last as long as paterno or bowden i dont think he will ever be that good as those two

1. Pete Carroll
2. Jim Tressel
3. Bob Stoops

Sorry, but Bowden and Paterno haven't done enough recently for me to consider them in the top tier of coaches.

Your list is EXCELLENT. My argument centers on the National Championships.

Sorry, but that is the gold standard. Anybody with ONE championship should not be number 2. Period.
