First, watch people your age at the mall, the beach, parks, etc.
Second , write down all your measurements - bust, waist, and hips. Sizing will vary slightly form store to store.
After size, check out sale and clearance items.
Try:
American Eagle**
Abercrombie
Delia's*
Hollister
JCPenney*
Lord and Taylor
Macys
Newport News
Nordstrom's
Spiegels
Victoria's Secret*
Wet Seal**
TIP:
1] don't go too trendy
2] buy what looks good on you, not just because it's in style
3] buy cuts and colors that flatter
4] buy comfy shoes!

1. Try a resale shop such as "Plato's Closet". Some of the ones geared toward the high school crowd offer very affordable, great label fashions.

2. Dots stores have cheap clothes-most items are $5, $7, $10. These are not clothes that will last years and years though.

3. H & M-very trendy, most items less than $25

4. Old Navy-always trendy, look for the "Item of the Week"

5. Outlet stores-a lot of them sell last season's left overs at low prices.

you can never go wrong with forever 21. but you don`t have to be brand-named to make a statement either. some thrift & discount stores sell just as good as brand named stuff that you`ll see out in the malls & popular stores. you can keep it simple with a solid color tee & tank, pair it with jeans or skirt or capris or shorts or whatever floats your boat, cute flats or slippers or sandals, and go big with the accessories. i say accessories are what makes an outfit so that`s when you can put more color & personality & however your feeeling!
