It should be considered a weapon even with only a 5 inch blade it could kill just them same it's not the length that matters it's how you use it a pencil could even be considered a weapon I've seen some trained people do some serious damage with one

I think it depends on the size of it but not sure. I don't know if a 14 yr old can buy one cuz some places request an ID.

Damn...Isn't there enough violence in the world today, what do you need a freekin pocket knife for?? This is quite pittiful!!! I honestly don't know if it is or if it isn't illegal, but I sure hope to God that it is illegal, I have two young children, and it's children out there like this that I fear of the thought of sending mine to school one day, and I doubt I'll be able to do it. Ugh...

yes it is considered a weapon and to my knowledge you would need ID but I don't know for sure....I've never bought one personally.
If you go on a plane they consider nail clippers a weapon...so rule of thumb, anything that is sharp or that can draw blood is considered a weapon in the eyes of the law.

Anything pointed that is more than 3 inches can be considered as a deadly weapon according to law. just be careful. and to be safe, you don't need pocket knives. what you need are pencils, books and notebooks! focus on studies and exercise your brain!

for a fourteen year old yes it can. and if caught with a pocket knife and no id, lieing about your age is not the best thing to do

it all depends on how it's used weather it's considered a weapon or a tool.
and it depends on where you live as to how old you have to be. most states you can not buy one till your 18.

I bought one at auto zone for 7 dollars when I was 10, Then at a discount store. Still carry it around. but has to be less than 6 inches long. DONT take it to school Immediate explation.
