Shaq is at best an 8 or at worst a 6 right now.
As shown in their Finals win last year, He's still the NBA's one & only immovable force when healthy. But thats a big IF. Due to his advancing age & weight problems he's been prone to injuries lately & has slowed down significantly.
In spite of all this however, Shaq at 60% is still better than almost all post men in the NBA (w/ the exception of maybe Duncan, Yao Ming).

He is definitely on the downside of his career. He has a difficult time staying healthy anymore for a whole season. He still has moments of effectiveness during the season, but he is not nearly consistent enough (with his health or play) to lead the Heat to the championship again.
I would say he is between a 6 or 7 at this point.

I'll give him a 6, if you set 10 at when he was about 27 or so. The thing is that there aren't very many other dominant big men, so he can still be very competitive at his position. Even if you're 35, you're still going to be intimidating if you're 7'1" and 340lbs. He clears a lot of space for DWade to drive to the hoop, so he influences the game in ways other than his stats.

He's an above average role player. His whole career he's relied on knocking people over. Now he can barely catch his breath when he runs from one end of the floor to the other.
His size is his biggest asset still. But as we saw in the playoffs this past season, the referees are going to call those charging fouls he's gotten away with his entire career.

ill say 7-8 he still is the most intimidating prescence in the post. he cant be stopped one-on-one and if he really committed himself in the off season and lost a little weight he maybe could be the shaq of a few years ago for another year or two.

I don't feel qualified enough to rate him.
He has bad feet and I think that is his biggest problem.
I have bad feet, so I know how it hurts and how debilitating that can be.
He is one of my NBA favorites.
He is kind, considerate and very humorous.
He cares and that is maybe a 10 for his even temper and the fact that he feels for other people.
I hope we have him around for a long time.
He has so many other options other than basketball.
