I am a receptionist. I keep getting this creepy phone call from this guy saying his name is Scott and asks do I remember him, he was in the office the other day. I say how may I help you? Then he says "you don't remember me, its Scott" and never gives a last name. And he talks in a creepy psyco voice. MOST Creepy my husband's name is Scott. I work with several other women, answering the same phone but this Scot person never talks to them. Sould I be concerned. And no its not my husband I know his voice and he doesn't beleive in prank calls. My office doesn't have caller id but I guess we should get it.

I think you should file a police report.

It sounds like you work in a professional office so I will try to be serious. If it happened to me, I'd get the other girls in the office in on it and keep him on the phone for a while, we would have fun. But since you seem to work in a real-work, no horse-play prison with a water cooler, it sounds like this guy is not serious. If it was work related, he would give his full name, and he also wouldn't be playing games. Since none of the other women are answering these calls (that you know of), it could be internal, someone from the office that can get your extension/line directly. If the calls are recorded, perhaps your supervisors are seeing what you would do in a harassment situation. Maybe one of the men in your office is admiring you from afar. Reguardless, contact your human resources immediately. Maybe none of the other women are telling you that they are getting similar calls. Worst case scenario, this guy really is a creepy psycho, he follows you to your car one afternoon, and the only people that know anything about it are the people on Yahoo Answers. Make sure that you are letting people know about strange things like this. And don't go anywhere alone until the office has done something about this. Any company would be more than willing to get the police involved if it was a matter of the safety of one of their employees.

definitely let your HR people know and if they don't do anything about it, then file a report with the police. All companies should have caller id, especially now a days...people are just too weird today....

Tell your supervisor you feel uncomfortable with this fellow. Find out his full name by pointing him out to your colleagues. Keep notes in the back of a pocket book/diary - how many times he rings, what does he say. Try to keep conversation to a minimum with this person until you have sussed him out.
