I think the majority would be against it, unless there were extenuating circumstances.

What a great question to put to voters...

It is great because there are only a few percentage points of people that I think would actually vote "For Abortion".

Even a majority of folks that are "pro-choice" would not vote "for abortion", I trust.

It is only those irrational, emotional, thoughtless few that would react to such a question as this and automatically cast a vote "for abortion" or "for prematurely ending the life of an unborn child".

How about a little respect for life!

Actually many polls have been conducted on this. A comfortable majority of Americans support a woman's right to terminate an early pregnancy, and for cases involving rape, incest and serious birth defects. A comfortable majority of Americans oppose a woman's right to terminate a late pregancy, and the procedure known as partial birth abortions. An overwhelming majority are against using abortion for sex selection.

considering many Americans are intelligent enough to realize an abortion ban creates a new avenue for organized crime to acquire money and power, along with making it impossible to regulate, i think logic and reason would keep abortion legal.
But hey, on the bright side, pro-lifers did win this battle in Iran! But Iran is extreme right-wing anyway.

Polls show a majority of Americans support abortion (but many of them don't bother to vote).

Before the vote let Americans hear the horror stories from Dr. Tiller the baby killer...he preforms late term abortions of babies that are old enough to survive out of the womb.....

Abortion wins by a landslide in matters of rape, drug addicts and children under the age of 16.

Poll after poll has shown that Americans favor a woman's right to choose to have an abortion.

It goes against the grain of any free nation for a paternalistic government to dictate what a woman may or may not do.

It is unfortunate that those who clamor the most loudly against a woman's right to choose are selfish to the extent that while they rail against a woman's right to choose, they refuse to adopt babies from unwanted pregnancies and instead allow them to be reared as wards of the state in multiple foster homes.

If one were truly pro-life, one would do one's utmost to prevent genocide, killings in wars that never needed to be fought...such as the debacle in Iraq...and to promote the quality of life for all of those all ready upon this planet.

To blindly support the rights of nonviable bits of protoplasm while supporting genocide and war killings is at the minimum hypocritical and more likely sinful in the eyes of whatever diety one worships.

Based on the polls I've seen, it would probably be voted against. But then Planned Parenthood would have a fit.
