I have a house with well water. We lost power from a bad storm for over 24 hours. During that time, I had no water, I understand it is because the pump from my well requires electric power to operate. Now the power has been restored to my house I still have no water. There is simply no water pressure or flow from any faucet or the shower.

Additional Details:
#1) I do not see a "reset button" anywhere,
#2) and there is no way to plug the pump in with an electical cord. I wish I could've during the outage, as I had a generator to use. It is hard wired directly to my electical Box.
#3) I checked and reset the fuse breaker in the box, that wasn't the problem
#4) it has a well-mate model wm-9 pressure tank attached.

Is the pump motor running now??? That was not mentioned...if so it lost it's prime...the pvc plumbing or galvenized coming up from the ground into the pump housing either has a large screw that will come off..or there will be one on the pump itself.....unscrew it all the way out..pour water in it and let er rip....once water is seen flowing out readily cap it and your there..Here is a link to all possible well problems...if it isn't the prime..here is a "cheat sheet"

Check to see if there is a fuse that needs to be reset. Sometimes it gets kicked out to keep from burning up. Check to see if there is a reset button on the receptacle itself to rest too.
Try plugging in the pump with an extension cord to see if the pump will kick on at a different electrical source.
If all fails, call a plumber.

Go out to ur well house and see if there is a switch that has to be reset. It probably has a safety switch or something so it doesn't sit and run and burn up. Mine actually has a switch inside the house and two switches in the well house. One is a safety switch and sometimes it throws and I have to go and reset it and when the electric goes off, it takes it a bit to rebuild up the pressure and it may need to be off while doing that so I betcha all u gotta do is flip that switch. I hope it didn't get struck by lightening!! Also there should be a water faucet out there see if water comes out of it!!

pumps need only 2 things to work... power and to be primed.
If you can verify you are getting power to the pump, and no water is coming out of the spigots, you have lost prime on the pump and need to bleed the air out of the pump/lines, so that the pump can prime itself... NOTE, running a pump dry for a little while is ok, but do not run it more than needed while attempting to prime it or you risk SEVERE DAMAGE. When in doubt call a local professional and get a quote.

Coming from the farm we had shallow well. The darn thing would always lose it's prime, especially when the power went out, which was all the time in the Country (Co-Op)
My dad and I would have to spend the afternoon trying to prime the darn pump.
Without seeing what you have or your set-up I just wouldn't be able to tell you. You might have to call in a well person or plumber.

check the breaker that controls the pump equipment make sure it has not tripped or if you have fuse's check for a blown fuse lighting hitting the line will cause a huge power surge I know happen to me 4 times

It sounds like it needs to be primed, especially if someone ran the water while the power was out.

does your pump have a re-set button ???
most of them do....you have to get to the pump, find the RED button and push it in for a few seconds...then the pump should start up...if not...then the storm killed it.
