Approximately 800,000 to 1,000,000 humans were slaughtered in Rwanda during Bill Clinton's first term in 1994. WHERE WAS THE LIBERAL OUTRAGE?!? Don't they care about Africans?
Pacifism brings war. They said Carter's pacifism would bring peace...WRONG.

Dangerous ~ I receive more slurs and taunts from tolerant "liberals" when they find out I'm a gay conservative than from heterosexual evangelical Christians.

Sage ~ Your modesty precedes you. I was never opposed to President Clinton's war in the Balkans. Then again I never referred to it as "Clinton's War" the way Iraq is characterized as "Bush's War".

They are torn on this issue because they believe the planet is over-populated.

We were outraged. It was liberal pressure that eventually did result in the limited support that was given.
The bigger question is - after seeing the result of Clinton's failure to get involved (not that you lot would have let us - when he did act to stop genocide in the Balkans you attacked him for that) why did we just sit and watch it all happen in Sudan?

I agree that it is tragic, but I disagree that it is America's responsibility. There are SO many things to cherry-pick about Clinton but this isn't one of them. I don't see where America had an even slight national security interest in protecting Rwandans; therefore, we shouldn't have mobilized our armed forces. Even if 1,000,000 died I'm glad my neighbor's kid wasn't one of them.

Since the ban on DDT, about one million people die every year from malaria or other diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. Apparently the liberals care more about the environment than they do about people.

so if 1 million people were killed in 100 days what kind of army would it take to prevent that??
Do you have any idea of the size and power of an army it would take just to do that??? give ya hint, it would be much bigger and badder than Saddam's.
Clinton was too busy defending himself from Republicans, and eventually busy trying to get them to upgrade airline security that they never did, until after September 11th 2001.

For what reason should we involve ourselves in the problems of Rwanda or any other nation? Shouldn't Rwanda take care of Rwanda?
