I work with my veterans organizations to gain better treatment of our wounded and sick veterans. I work with my ham radio club to provide communications support for local events such as the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure and in the event of natural or man-made disaster that degrades normal modes of communication. I do living history portrayals of an American Civil War battlefield surgeon with the 12th US Infantry (reenacting) and the 117th NYV Infantry (reenacting). My mistake was in thinking retirement would mean I would have all sorts of free time on my hands. WRONG!!!! Hee hee - if I didn't do all the above and more, I'd go freakin' nuts!

Wow, that would be lovely, I'd sleep,
then read, then come on here.

Except that would never happen, because
eventually I'll be asked to take out the dogs,
then it breaks my whole "free time".
