I have a good one, but it will be kind of wordy to explain; sorry.
You need a large jar, ornate, something with maybe a nice lid, or even one of those kitchen jars you use to keep coffee fresh? Then you use good stock paper (I prefer pink), and create dozens of little "memory" or "reason's I miss you notes" you scroll them up, and tie a ribbon around each one. Fill the jar, and then I usually add some sparkles or confetti. It really makes a great gift, statement, and keep sake all at the same time.

Send them a self-made card with pictures of you both together doing different things, and commenting on those moments and making jokes at all the funny, crazy memories you´ve created together, add in some insider jokes and then let them know how much they mean to you, tell them how much you love them and miss them, and they will definitely get the message just as deeply as you meant to say it.

My ex was going on tour so I snuck some notes, cards and a silly little stuffed animal into his bags in different places that I knew he would open on different dates...it was all good until someone else opened the compartment with the animal...he got so much h*ll. But all in all I think he liked it, I got a song out of it!
