It promotes peace between countries but it encourages groups that are opposed to globalization to take possibly violent action.

In the long run, it probably might. But not before giving rise to other problems such bigotry & ethnocentrism especially when jobs are lost to foreigners, etc. And who knows what further problems these problems could spawn. A magic crystal ball would be nice...

maybe it is because cooperation brings trust. all parties would benefit more when their economies develop.
