I have a 1995 Buick Park Avenue Ultra. When I go to start it up it starts and then die. You can hear it start completely but then quits. You can step on the gas pedal thinking you can give it some gas to go on but it wont rev its like the fuel system is shutting off. The thing is you can try another key and it will start up------sometimes. The starter and the tumbler have been replaced and I was given new keys with new a code on the key since the car has the pass key system.

try replacing the part called an Idle air control solenoid. Also have the fuel pressure checked as you may have a bad fuel pump.

I am a little puzzled about the other key scenerio....but since you stated that you have replaced almost all of the key system components that are related to start/no start, you might want to check out a different area.

If I am not mistaken (you can check with a Buick dealer) your vehicle is equipped with an ignition cut-off switch for oil pressure. I am not totally positive but I remember some G.M. vehicles having this switch. It will shut the vehicle off if there is no oil pressure present. Your car could have no problem with actual pressure but I have seen these switches get gunked up after time (old oil getting stuck in the oil passage).

Again, not a 100% positive on this one but you may want to give it a looksie.

It is called VAS Key. You have to visit the dealer ship and get the correct Vas key resistors put into the keys. I bet you can find a local lock smith that has the old VAS Key parts in a box that can cut and make your keys work.
