Hiding Pleco?

i had Two plecos and a bala shark. the aquarium had a pump, filter and heater, and a house.they all tried to cram themselves in the house. one pleco died then the shark and i am left with the one pleco that wont ever come out of the house...whats the problem.

I have plecos myself and they love to hide
You should turn off the light at night and stay around and watch
You're going to see that the pleco is coming out
Plecos are night active and prefer to stay in hiding during the day

I'm assuming that you have a common plecostemus. These fish are not very active during the day time and are very active et night when they scavenge for food. They prefer having shelters to hide in like your "house" which is probably where he is most comfortable. I can not tell you why your other pleco died as there would need to be much more information before I could even guess such as water parameters, previous behavior and appearance and so on. Is this house the only ornament or shelter in your tank? Do you have any plants or rocks or anything? If not I would suggest doing so as the bala shark would do well with some hiding places also. If your plecos where both males the one that is alive could have killed the other as they are territorial over their "houses" which is also why I suggest getting or building more shelters and adding plants and such.
