I have three goldfish in a ten gallon tank. The tank has small rocks, fake plants, and seashells on the bottom. Every night, they will move the rocks off of the piece of plastic that holds the plants down, and put them in the seashells. Then they will push the plants around the tank. They do it every time i change the water. I'm confused. Help please!

When I first started working at a pet store I learned a little trick. We're alwyas trying to catch fish and the nets kept getting stuck in the plants and pulling them up, even before the goldfish and cichlids could do it.

Take off the little plastic piece that holds the rocks and find a set of suction cups with holes in the back and attach the suction cup to the bottom of the plant instead. Then use the suction cup to "stick" the plant to the glass bottom. The fish have a much harder time moving them around, even if they dig up the gravel.

Goldfish always like to play with things in the tank. They move rocks, suck on gravel, and touch any tank ornaments you may have. They are so playful, I love them! But if you would like them to stop messing up your tank, you should secure the rocks and plants by putting more gravel in the tank. Buy heavier rocks that they will not be able to move. Your goldfish will always be playful like that. If they stop being playful, they are either sleeping or sick.
