What sort of population would encourage suicide bombers to attack US troops?

Is it the sign of a populace desperate to end a foreign occupation? For instance Gaza?

Yeh, right. Iraq is different from the Palestinian cause. The very few confirmed suicide bombings occured 30 years ago, under the name Islamic Jihad - under protest of US/UN involvement.

Everyone knows the Arabs ganged up on the Palestinians and used them as a diplomatic tool. So what gives?

Why would a population 'blow themselves up' in the name of religion, when they already have piles of guns around anyway? Are they just 'sick in the head'?

No prizes to guessing where those guns came from - France, Britain, and most of all, the USA.

Why continue the occupation, when the only excuse for the blatant and terrible atrocities on civilians by terrorists is the occupation is the occupation itself?

Will anyone bother to dot the dots and realize the attacks on civilians are either enraged civilians also, or foreign elements, such as intelligence services desperate for civil war?

Kevorkian - of course you fail to mention martyrs, Christian or of any other cause, but it doesn't matter unless you're blaming muslims. If it is a socialogical thing, you're pinned down and pwned by the fact that the occupation is too much for the human mind to bear and therefore unethical. Please state your question more clear, your question is in a very rambling format. I can't even tell what side your on, or what your question even is. But moving on:

What in God's name are you talking about? Palestinians are not allowed any guns, rifles, or weaponary of such, that's a very well known fact. Why do you think they became rock throwers? They also became suicide bombers because those bombs they blow themselves in are homemade. Point is they have NO access to explosives (they home-make their own bombs) and NO access to guns. AT ALLL.

They blow themselves up because they have nothing to lose. America and Israel have parked their ***** in those poor people's land forever. Israelis have ruined the homes of MANY Palestinians who are 100% innocent, I **** you not. They are not allowed to defend themselves. Israel keeps kicking them out of their homes so they can occupy that land, and if they don't, they'll bulldoze their homes down! - And they WILL. They cannot defend themselves and they are fed up with the situation of being stripped from their civil liberties and freedoms -- and when America partakes and encourages Israel to do such things like this, people become fed up of being treated this way especially when they can't defend themselves, so they have nothing to lose. What do you think is gonna happen, huhh?

3) In no way am I condoning or agreeing with these suicide bombers, I'm just explaining that it goes back to America and Israel being cold-hearted crusaders who are completely dissensitized to ANY human emotions towards the Palestinians.

I absolutely loathe religious fanatics of any kind, from bombing abortion clinics to the KKK, to Evangelists and to this. This is why I stay away from religion! Because religion make people HATE.

Sure, they [terrorists] should take personal responsibility for their own actions, I am a big advocator of this idea. But at the same time, where ever you go in life, KEEP THIS IN MIND: Every action causes a reaction.

There is more in Iraq than just the US army - there is Black Hawk a "private" US based military -

Although the US army may have rules (Lindsey Egnlish could not have acted alone) that they may or may not follow but these "private" mercanaries certainly do not

At one point 2 Brits were arrested - dressed as Muslims and shooting at people while driving in a jeep - They were broken out by tanks from their cel -

The death count from "insugrents" should tell you that they are one faction of the fighting forces in the middle of an all out civil war

The US just built a huge military base there -

The UK Canada and the US have circled Iran - Iran is next but no one is saying anything - wild speculation on the part of nutters

So if Iran is next and the US is fighting on one side of a civil war and their are abuses on all sides -

Why would these extremists blow themselves up ?

It certainly destabilzes a region - It keeps all sides in chaos and the war becomes perpetual in nature - The other side is clearly insane and so no further questions need to be asked

Here is just a thougt - The way to execute someone in Iraq with no questions asked is to strap a bomb on them and then push them into a crowd of your enemies ?

A suicide that happened to take out the other side in a failed attempt to kill US soldiers and plus that guy - the nut - gone no questions and then word spreads disent to the US and you have a bomb strapped to you and no one will ever believe you -

It's of course a hypothetical - an evil one but hypothetical

Now there of course will also be real suicide bombers - it may be the only percieved effective way to strike back it may be religious zealtotry -

The aim owever on all sided is to destabilize the region and for corporate America it is to have a perpetual war and thus a perpetual income -

To maintain a military base close to other targets and to wipe out any thought of Iraq owning it's own resources - It is also apparently a way to dispose of nuclear waste in the form of depleted (98 instead of 100 % ) Uranium -

This is tantamount to genocide as it wil stay in the land 4.5 billion years -

4.5 Billion years of hideuosly deformed babies - no future generation that look like grampa might also lead to some desperate measure and acts as well -

I wonder if the birth defect rate matches the suicide bomber rate and if that has anything to do with the advent of female suicide bombers ?

I agree with Dr. Kevorkian. Muslims fail to realize a suicide bomber, by any objective standard, cannot be a martyr, though he may be the cause of the martyrdom of others. Though suicide attacks are clearly on the rise and little can be done to stop them. Efforts to curb the phenomenon are further complicated because suicide bombers have usually undergone religious indoctrination and have social approval of their mission. In some Muslim countries radical local imams encourage suicide missions and those who die fighting infidels are often greatly admired. Isn't that sickening.

Ameicans have different ideas concerning suicide from other cultures. the same happen in WWII verses kamikazi pilots.

For some people the cause is more important than their life. And there is not way around that sentence. Either you are willing to die for what you are fighting for, or you arent.

Muslim.

It's a cultural/religious thing. There have been desperate populations before - there still are - and they don't use that particular tactic. ETA, for instance, bombs, but doesn't use suicide bombs. The IRA used many horrific tactics, but not that particular one. Tibetans opposing Chinese occupation resort to suicide - but don't take anyone esle with them when they self-immolate.
