Physical Geography covers about every aspect of geography that is known.
It covers land configurations, political, climatic, geographic ( ie maps, topology, topography, etc), weather, anthropological, and historical.
It also encompasses a lot of geology and geologic studies.
It covers the "dry" land masses as well as those underwater and covered in ice.
Physical Geography is the most fascinating and interesting of all the sciences(in my opinion) to study.
It's a lot of reading and even quite a bit of "hands on" studying.
It can be used in many aspects of life from weather forcasting to archeaology.
You learn something new all the time because our physical world is constantly changing.
It is a great way to round out your college education.
Have fun and good luck!

I took Physical Geography as a first-year requirement for my degree in Geography. I enjoyed the course a lot, and learned more about our home planet than I thought I would (I went in with the attitude that geography was what we studied in grade school--what's the capital of this, where is such-and-such city located, etc). I had needed a science course as a basic requirement and this sounded easiest of all of them. I learned about places, people, soil types, the continents and how they drifted (apart from the one HUGE continent once known as PANGEA), weather patterns, etc. If you are into this type of thing, I say YES, GO FOR THE COURSE.

I've never heard of "physical" geography. I have to wonder how that differs from plain-ol'-run-of-the-mill geography? I personally think a course in geography is BORING! It's one thing to pay attention to the news and care about where Iraq is in proximity to the Virgin Islands and where Africa is in proximity to Egypt and so on, but ... being told WHAT to study WHEN for a semester. Yawn.
