I've tried both. And I perfer pads. I know alot of young girls that wear tampons, but I just cant stand them. I always hurt in them, and it so isnt worth it, because you can get TSS from them. And I know a woman that died from this, so I think that is mainly why I stay away from them. Everybody is different. Good Luck!

I've had my period for only 2 times now, so I have the least experience but I disagree with the tampon user (in my opinion) that pads feel like a bloody diaper, because my period have always been light or moderate so the pad just soaks it up and so it doesn't feel like a bloody diaper.
-But, if it does, i mean, you can always change your pad, nobody is making you wear a pad until it feels weird. Or you might have use a lighter absorbency than you might need because from what i have heard, pads are used to absorb the blood and you aren't suppose to feel uncomfortable within a few hours from when you just used the pad.
eh heh~ i might have typed too much x[

I started my period when I was 13 and I used pads up until after I was 18 years old and then went to tampons for a while. I stopped using them because of a medical condition unrelated to the tampon itself. I now stick to using pads only because I don't have to worry about my vaginal area drying out when I try to insert a tampon and I just feel more comfortable with using pads.

I prefer tampons because they are much more comfy than pads. You can put one in and forget it's there (until it's time to change it!) If you choose the correct absorbency you will not leak which means no more stained under-ware and the nasty feeling of the blood on the inside of your thighs. With the tampons you can wear literally anything that you want. I personally still wear thongs and white. Also with tampons you can go swimming and do all other activities with no problem. And if you sweat a lot you still won't feel disgusting.

honestly, it depends- i have had my period since i was 10 and i am 25 now.
i didn't start using tampons until recently, because i never really thought about it. i am still getting used to tampons presently....
when i am out and i want to wear more fitted clothing then, i use tampons. however, when i am laying in bed relaxing or sleeping- then i prefer pads.

I like tampons because you don't feel like you are wearing a wet bloody diaper. But I have to use pads (my mom won't let me use tampons) But I have stolen some of hers that is why I know I like tampons better. Oh and I have been having my period for about 2 years.

I prefer tampons because there are hardly ever any 'accidents'. I've had my period since I was 11, and I started off using pads for the longest time. I started using tampons when I was about 18 years old.
Plus it just sucks to feel like I'm sitting in a sweaty nasty bloody diaper.
