The in line V6 vortech actually takes 7 Quarts. You can run it with 5 1/2 but once you pass 120,000 miles you will start getting the ECU to powerdown the motor while your driving. If this is happening you will get trouble codes P1220 for throttle body for some reason.

four and a half unless it has a oil cooler then it takes 5 and 1/2 the proper amount should be under the hood on a sticker if not then have the local parts store look it up. or look at the owners manual.
