I had a c-section 2 weeks ago, and was wanting to know from those who have had a c-section before, if it was uncomfortable to lay on your side after the c-section. If it was, how long did it take until it felt good to lay on your side. Thanks for reading

I don't remember pain for so long, but discomfort. But you need to move a lot after a csection--and the sooner the better. Nothing (!) strenuous--walk. Walk a lot! As soon as I regained feeling in my legs--I started doing laps around the maternity ward--I walked (pushing the stroller) as often as I could (which is not easy for a new mom). Its been 4 years since my last c-section--and I still have no feeling in the lower part of my abdomen!

Ok I have had 3 c-sections it is painful to lay anyway with your first c-section and walk up stairs etc.. it going to take awhile for your body to get back into shape again and back to normal be patient and wear a tummy support it helps with the healing of the stomach and makes it tighter my 2nd c-sec was a bit better then the first i guess cause you know what to expect my 3rd was a breeze I was walking the first night so it all depends but it does take 1 year for full complete recovery after having a c-section I have a 2 month old and still feel the pinching and stuff because its sill healing but good luck

It probably took me a couple of months. I remember being so excited to sleep in whatever position I liked after 9 months, only to find that I was still stuck sleeping on my back. I felt like, I know this sounds gross, but like my insides were going to fall out if I slept on my side. The soreness of the incision took quite a while to heal as well and the first few weeks I would forget and turn on my side and it would hurt pretty bad. Even six months afterwards it would still get irritated on pants or skirts that rubbed on it. It's funny, my daughter will be a year this month and now I don't even think twice about how I sleep.

It's going to hurt for a while love.
I was still on pain killers for at least a week after.
It stays tender for quite some time - just look after yourself, don't strain yourself and don't start any wild exercise programs just yet. I also started walking with the pram about a week after my baby was born. Even at around 6 months if my husband tried to pick me up or anything like that it was still tender.
You have had major abdominal surgery, so just give yourself time and take it easy, we all recover at different stages.
