It's nothing to be concerned over. This happens when your body is trying to regulate the temperature of your testicles. When it's cold out or atleast your body thinks so, the testicles normally draw up toward the body and the sack has a leather like feel to them In warmer temperatures, the sack relaxes and allow the testicles to hang and maintain a cooler temperature. This process is designed to protect your sperm.

I would keep a little bottle of hand sanitizer under my pillow and any time he even got CLOSE to me I'd make him rub it! That is so nasty, having your back smell like a nut sack after being groped by scrote hands! Great question by the way.

Your body has a built in temperature system for your 'nads. Low(long , using your term) for the heat, contracted when cold.(wrinkly and short)

If this is a serious question why must you say "ball sack"? Why can't you call it what it is? A scrotum!
Your SCROTUM either retracts or descends to regulate the temperature necessary for the production of healthy sperm.

It's reaacting to changes in temperature. The scrotum is on the outside because god must have decided that they work best if installed like a waterbag on a mack truck... put them on the front bumper so they can keep cool in the breeze. They expand in the heat and contract in the cool.

when its cold your sack gets tight becuase it has to get the sperm at a certain temperature so it wont just be a waste of sperm and when it gets hot ur sack get loose becuase if the sperm gets to hot then it'll be a waste, so it changes so it'll keep a certain temperature for your sperm

I've noticed that, sometimes it's hard and soft, very smooth I think it's due to the temperature?

Your testicles regulate themselves to create the optimum temperature to produce sperm. Nothing to worry about. :)
