Jon Pertwee was my favorite -- elegant, fun, and the perfect Doctor, IMHO.

I rank Doctor Who's pretty much in order of appearance. The current revival is not genuine Dr.who but a flashy pop-tastic rip off.
1) william Hartnell....sinister
2) Patrick Troughton...most human
3) tom Baker.....most want to be
4)Jon Pertwee...funniest
the rest Pants

If you'd asked me three years ago I'd have said Tom Baker. Big character; slightly off centre; definitely alien; with an unshakable moral core.
Christopher Eccleston could have been the finest Doctor ever. But he buggered off before they could write any non-miserable stories for him.
If you ask me now, it has be David Tennant. Huge energy; absolutely alien; full of wonder; but with unimaginable pain behind his eyes. Great character.

Dr who? Oh, do you mean the Dr. Who? Yes, the original Dr. Who was the best. Didn't like the remake of the show after he was gone!

Tom Baker 1974 - 1980. Charm, wit, sarcasm and the best grin of all time.
