They are wild animals, and all wild animals pose some danger to humans and their pets.
Raccoons can bite and claw, causing infections or rabies.
Its best not to feed them, as they can then rely on humans for food - they will raid your garbage cans and make a mess, they could try to nest in your attic or chimney, and its just not a good idea.
They are cute and beautiful creatures of the wild - but its best to enjoy them from a distance.

To answer your question, raccoons can be very dangerous!
This is because raccoons are an animal none to carry rabies!
Rabies is extremely harmful to humans, especially if not treated! This deasies can kill you! The only way to prevent this is by having MANY PAINFUL shots to the stomach.
Besides rabies, raccoons are still dangerous and can be a viscous animal! The can bite, have claws, and will do allot to protect there food.
So Raccoons are dangerous creatures and are, and should be treated as a wild animal.
Also If you feed them do not feed them dirrectly, but my family goes to a camp-ground allot and loves feeding them, we food the really enjoy dog food...
Generally speaking, Racoons like peanuts, sweets, fruits, bread, peanut butter, and especially cat and dog food.
- Hope this helps

They usually eat slop, rubbish, or almost anything. They are dangerous if they feel threatened or cornered they will attack and they could have rabies. They may be cute but you wouldn't want to get infected.
Rabies can kill you so, be careful. They will protect the're food when eating so...
If you have pets do not let them out since the raccoons are there!

Most likely their dangerous. A couple of racoons ate my cousin's ducks a few years ago!! All that was left was their heads. It was really sad. I'm pretty sure they can find their own food.

Never feed wild animals (eg: me, a fennec fox) and raccoons will eat anything they can get their paws on. They can be dangerous, with sharp teeth and claws (they've been known to kill dogs WAY bigger than them) and of course, there's a risk of rabies.

If the raccoon is eating, it is NOT rabid. But they are vicious without rabies. They are a pest animal and eat chickens, and other pets or farm animals if given the chance. ( as long as it is not too large). The best way to deal with a coon is to trap and kill it or it WILL cause lots of damage and mess for you. Once it finds an easy meal, you will have lots of problems until you get rid of it.

I'd recommend not to feed them or else they'll never go away.......and they're mostly afraid of you so you'd probably not get very close to them. But if they're dangerous it's cause they have rabies...then I'd definitely stay away from them. But if you do want to feed them....they generally eat anything.

A TV special showing raccoons adaptation to city life warned about parasites in raccoon feces. Does not seem to harm raccoons, but becomes airborne and can infect humans and horses in a serious way. They warned to wear a mask if sweeping up after raccoons and to then burn your clothing. That sounds scary dangerous to me.
